This policy covers all risk cover for damage caused to household items which can be due to many reasons. The reasons are clubbed in sections which could be recovered depending on the sections opted at time of buying policy.

How to claim for household’s insurance?

Inform the Insurer and submit documents required for process as suggested by insurance company you choosed.

Documents required?

  • Submit correctly filled claim form with below other document.
  • Submit proof that you own all those valuables with signature.
  • Other evidence which can justify about the event that occurred and estimate loss.
  • In case of Fire claims:
    • Fire brigade report
    • Seismological report for earthquake.
    • Meteorological report in case of flood.
    • Estimate of damage/loss.
    • Rental agreement in case you staying on rent.
  • In case of Burglary claims:
    • FIR report having details about the incident.
    • Photograph as a proof for any violent act.
    • Estimate damage with list of insured valuables.
    • Obtain non-traceable certificate from Police authorities.
  • In case of jewelry and other valuables:
    • FIR report having details about the incident.
    • Photograph as a proof for any violent act.
    • Estimate damage with list of insured valuables.
    • Obtain non-traceable certificate from Police authorities.
  • In case of domestic appliances:
    • Details from repairer for estimate loss.
    • Depreciation clause becomes applicable @10% per year from date of purchase subject to 50%.
    • Details of warranty and guarantee if it’s valid.
  • In case of plate glass insurance:
    • Photographs of the damaged glass.
    • Invoice obtaining during purchase.
    • Invoice obtained during repair.
    • If current replacement value is more than the earlier purchased value then “average” value is considered for repayment. There will be no deduction other than Salvage value.
  • In case of liability:
    • FIR report.
    • Availability in court whenever needed.
    • INR 25000 is the maximum sum assured to recover from loss.
  • In case of death/disability of servants:
    • His name should be included in the policy.
    • Compensation will be as per WC Act.

    • Postmortem report and enquiry report(in death case)
